Troubleshooting
A PNG didn't get smaller: PNG is a lossless format, so the quality slider mainly affects JPEGs — PNGs may shrink only slightly or not at all. If a PNG can't be compressed further, the original file is kept instead of a larger "compressed" version.
The result still looks close to the original size: Try lowering the quality slider further — JPEGs respond most predictably to this. For maximum size reduction on photos, save the source as JPEG before uploading.
"Please select image files": The file(s) selected weren't recognized as images — check they weren't renamed from another file type.
One image in a batch didn't come through: A single unreadable or corrupted image can be skipped without a visible warning — try uploading that file on its own to confirm.
